Fruity Fact Friday- Healthy Eating

What a fun week! Eating healthy isn't all that bad huh? It helps to find those rare gems that are healthy yet good recipes. But our Guest Bloggers this week showed us they exist! So here a few {fruity-facts} that will make Eating Healthy be THAT Much cooler!
  • If you stick two forks in a pickle and add a charge, it will emit light. (WHAT? Someone HAS to try this and let us know if it works... healthkicker.com)
  • Whenever a recipe for cake or muffins calls for oil, applesauce can be substituted. (brighthub.com)
  • If you could eat only one vegetable for the rest of your life, eat spinach; it’s one of the highest ranking vegetables as far as overall antioxidant capacity, yet so versatile in recipes.(brighthub.com)

We also have a very awesome visitor here with us today! Everyone tell Jonathan Hello and give him some blog love for these amazing tips he will be sharing with us..

Hi there, this is Jonathan and I'm glad to be your guest today at Trulie-Scrumptious.
This being exercise/healthy eating week, I thought I'd write something about fitness for ladies.

Here are some fitness tips that any woman should know and follow:

1. Lifting weights should be part of your routine – I know a lot of women are a bit wary of lifting weights because they're afraid that this may result in big and masculine muscles. This is why the weight section at any gym I've ever been a member of was mostly used by men and very few women.

The truth is that most women have very little to worry about. Muscle building doesn't depend just on your workouts, it also requires the right hormones. Mainly, it is the male hormone, testosterone, which allows men to build bigger muscles. Women have a fraction of the testosterone that men do which is why they find it very hard to build bulky muscles.

Weight lifting is an excellent way to tone your body and to burn more calories. The reason is that weight lifting does build muscles (although not bulky ones for women) and muscles are calorie expensive. What I mean is that muscle tissue simply burns more calories than other tissue even when you sleep.

So, if you're looking to shed body fat in time for summer, lift some weights. Don't just do cardio.

2. Work big muscles more – One way to increase the effectiveness of your workouts is to work your big muscles more than your smaller ones. The goal is to engage the most muscle fibers in your workouts. The more muscle fibers you engage, the more energy your body expends, resulting in a greater calorie burn rate.

So, do more exercises for your chest, legs, and back and you will see faster results.

3. Do cardio before you eat breakfast – A lot of athletes and bodybuilders do their cardio before having a bite to eat. The reason is that research shows that doing cardio before eating breakfast results in more fat burning. It seems that your body simply doesn't have any available energy after the long hours of fasting it went through in your sleep. It simply has to go to your fat stores and use more fat from there. So, why not wake up 20 minutes earlier and do a little cardio?

That's it for me today. I hope you found these 3 tips useful. I invite you to visit my site at World of Diets and if you're interested in more fitness tips for women visit Venus Index Review. Have a great exercise week.

{It's also Friday the 13th ooohhh... Happy Friday everyone}

  6. Cute blog! :)
I love to eat a biiiiig spinach salad (ate one every night for dinner while actively trying to lose weight) because it always seems like the number on the scale is lower when I incorporate a lot of fresh spinach into my diet. Mmmmm...and it tastes so good.
I'm actually growing some spinach in my garden this year. *giddy*

I have a recipe on my blog for my fave spinach salad:
