Baby Fruity Facts

Since this little one is the only thing on my mind these days, I decided to dedicate our Fruity Facts to all those adorable BABIES OUT THERE!

  1. Babies are born without knee caps, they don't develop fully until after about six months
  2. May babies are the heaviest. They are usually about 200 grams heavier than any other month. (Please tell us this isn't true, since we are both having May babies)
  3. Babies are born with 300 bones, while adults only have 206
  4. The heaviest baby ever born weighed 22 pounds, 8 ounces. He was born in Italy in 1955. Wowza, that's a large baby...
  5. About 80% of all babies are born with some type of birthmark
The longer I'm pregnant with this little one, the more I realize what a miracle having a baby truly is!

CALLING ALL MOTHERS!

Or I guess I should say, calling all pregnant people or mothers who have been pregnant. I need your area of expertise. Let's be honest here... Getting LARGE really stinks. Nothing fits right, and let's face it, it' hard to look adorable when your gaining pounds left and right! I always look at pregnant girls and think how cute they are, but I'm feeling less and less cute as the months go on. So I guess what I'm asking is, WHAT ON EARTH DID YOU WEAR! I think I've worn the same pair of pants everyday the last two months. I want to be comfortable, but still look like I haven't just rolled out of bed and pulled on sweats (which is really what I feel like wearing) I need some maternity clothing advice. I'm not quite big enough for maternity clothes, but not small enough to wear my normal shirts, and who can afford to go buy a whole new wardrobe? Not me... So what were all your tricks to keep yourself looking cute, without breaking the bank! Can't wait to hear all of your lovely advice ;) And you better share and not keep all those good secrets to yourself! So comment away ladies...

YUMMMMMM

I saw this recipe and it was a MUST TRY!
Chicken Alfredo Lasagna Rolls
Can I get another YUMMM!
Here's what you do:
FIRST you need to whip up your favorite Alfredo sauce, either homemade or from a bottle, You choose!
(I chose homemade)
Start boiling those lasagna noodles!
Shred that chicken, add some garlic and your half way there!
Drain those noodles and run under COLD water! Pat them dry with a paper towel, and the fun begins!
Layer those lasagna noodles with your yummy Alfredo sauce, add some chicken and ROLL EM!
Put them in a pan, cover with the remaining Alfredo sauce, sprinkle some cheese and delicious spices of your choice on top and THERE YA HAVE IT!
Oh yea, bake at 350 for about 30 minutes, or until the cheese on top is bubbly and nicely cooked..
I made some homemade PIZZA FACTORY Bread sticks, oh  my gosh.. these deserve another YUMMMM! You can find the recipe I used HERE
Add some salad, and you have one delicious meal to eat, and your husband will be SO grateful! You might even get a big
YUMMMMM from him ;)

Cutie Booties

Oh my word!
I am so embarrassed at how long it's been since I've posted. My poor sister has taken complete control of this blog all by her lonesome. What's even worse is I have WAYYY too much spare time these days that I do absolutely nothing most of the time. But after reading all my sisters amazing organization tips, I cleaned out my closet. Instead of giving away all of my clothes to DI, I decided to cut up a few shirts and make a few baby crafts before that little girl of mine gets here. So here is my first of hopefully many crafts.
Barefoot Baby Cutie Booties
This beauty on pinterest was my inspiration
So here's what you'll need:
*An old t-shirt
*Scissors
*Hot glue
*Needle and thread (if you choose)

First I cut the hemmed parts of the t-shirt.... The bottom and both sleeves. This makes life easier because it's already hemmed for you!
 GENIUS RIGHT?
Then I cut a thick strip of the t-shirt and starting cutting out different sizes of flowers.
I cut out six different sizes for each flower which makes a grand total of 12. BUT YOU can make as many layers as your little heart desires.
So after you've cut and chopped everything, this is what you'll have..

Now it's time for the glue gun! Glue the two loose ends of Sleeve 1 to the center (You can sew it if you'd like, but I chose to use glue)

THIS next step is optional. I've seen these done both ways, you can either leave it with the two straps. OR you can get adventurous and add a back strap. To do this, you cut the back strap piece to the size you desire.
LASTLY, glue all the parts of the flower together then glue onto the top portion of the sleeve strap and voila!
Now all I need is a cute center for my flower and a baby to test these adorable booties on ;)
Ok, so after I finished this post I went and made two more pairs of these adorable booties. I'm addicted! Pretty sure I'll have a pair in every color WITH matching headbands, (I'm still working on those beauties) But I glued the straps of the of the example above together to make them thinner, just an fyi. Here are my other cutie booties.
Please do yourself a favor and go make a pair of these,
they are so much fun!

February Fruity Facts

Here are some random facts about the month of February. Why do we love these useless facts so much?? But first things first, a little background info on Ground Hog Day since we missed it yesterday:

  • The second day of February is referred to as GROUND HOG's DAY! The old stories told are that the ground hog comes out of it's burrow on February 2, to look for it's shadow. If there is sunshine and he sees his shadow, then he goes back to sleep and there will be more winter time. If he doesn't, then the spring time will begin! (So did the ground hog see his shadow or what yesterday? I never heard -Not that there has been much winter this year anyways)
  • February 1965 is the only month in recorded history not to have a full moon
  • Valentine's Greetings have been found that date back into the 1400's
  •  Both Washington's and Lincoln's Birthdays were in February
  • February is National grapefruit and chocolate month
  • February was named after the Latin word "februa" which means Cleansing or purification, and reflects the purification ritual undertaken before Spring.
And here is just a little February quote for your enjoyment ;)

FEBRUARY QUOTE
Thirty days hath September,
April, June, and November;
All the rest have thirty-one,
Excepting February alone
Which hath but twenty-eight, in fine,
Till leap year gives it twenty-nine.

A month to CREATE

A February....
The shortest of all the months and this year, a leap year.  {Crazy if February 29th was your birthday, no?  A birthday only every 4 years?!}
Nuts!

So this month's word is
CREATE

A great word that I L-O-V-E!  And not only will it be so perfect to see what is created this month, but it's also the month of LOVE.  So I hope to see lots of wonderful creative ways to treat your loved one this month.  I've got oodles of ideas on what to do for VDay...

Here's one:

OK, so I thought it would be fun for each of us to take $14 to the dollar store and by each other gifts...kind of like a secret sister/santa-although it really wouldn't be a secret... and pick out a gift for each day until Valentine's Day that reminded us of each other.

FOR example:

For one day I would give him a HUNK candy bar with a little note telling him how grateful I am that I married such a HUNK.

For another I would give him a deck of cards, since we like to play games and say:  I'm grateful for all the work you put in for our full house...or something like that...

Anyways, you get the idea.

What creative ideas do you have for this month of February?   What things to you like to do for VDay?
